Why I Do This Work
“Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we’ll ever do.”
-Brene Brown
I did not initially seek out to become a mental health counselor. During my time at Mississippi State (Hail State!), where I studied criminology, I kept hearing about how mental health impacts every facet of life, from work to physical health. I also learned how difficult it was for many to access this type of care. Learning this, paired with the powerful experiences I have had in my own therapeutic journey, inspired me to go into this field.
I am deeply passionate about making mental health care accessible and believe that everyone deserves a space to be heard and understood. Being able to sit with someone who is working through what is often the hardest parts of their life and to see change and relief is a privilege.
About Me: Outside of counseling, I love making stained glass projects, traveling, reading, and spending time with my dog, Lilo. I am also a lifelong swimmer and continue to stay connected to the sport by coaching.
If you think we could be a good fit, I invite you to reach out for a free 15 minute consultation call!

My Approach
Searching for a counselor can feel overwhelming, and I want you to know that you don’t have to navigate this journey alone. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment. As a counselor, I take a strengths-based, person-centered approach, meaning I believe in your resilience and ability to grow. I also utilize a relational-cultural approach, which is the idea that humans grow and heal primarily through strong, mutually supportive relationships. Using these as my foundation, I integrate more structured interventions such as DBT or CBT when appropriate. My goal is to create a collaborative space where you feel comfortable to both share and to be challenged. I believe that you are the expert on your own story, and my role is to walk alongside you—offering encouragement, support, and collaboration every step of the way.
